2027 Ticket Information

What You Need to Know Before Buying

Rio Carnival tickets are sold for specific parade dates, viewing sectors and admission categories. A ticket for a Special Group parade is not automatically valid for a Série Ouro parade or the Champions’ Parade.

For the 2027 edition, the principal competitive performances take place on 7, 8 and 9 February, with the Champions’ Parade on 13 February. Série Ouro competitions take place on 5 and 6 February.

LIESA, the organizer of the Special Group competition, has used Ticketmaster Brasil for the official ticket sales. The Série Ouro also has ticket listings on the Ticketmaster platform, with its own categories and prices.

2027 sales status — reviewed

The Rio Carnaval ticketing hub lists the main Special Group grandstand, numbered-chair, frisa, Sambista and three-day passport offerings as sold out at this review date. Hospitality packages are listed separately, and Série Ouro admission is managed through its own event listings.

This is a dated status snapshot, not a live inventory display. Cancelled transactions or further official ticket releases may change availability. No additional public release date should be assumed until announced.

Confirmed announced prices

Rio Carnival Ticket Prices for 2027

Ticket prices vary substantially by competitive division and admission format. The published 2027 prices below distinguish the Special Group from Série Ouro, and individual admissions from multi-person boxes.

Ticket category Announced price What the price covers

R$250 full
R$125 half
One selected parade night in the announced regular sales rounds. Not a three-night package.

Early promotional category
R$230 full

Special Group frisas
Six-person box
R$1,835–R$10,200 One complete frisa for six people on one parade night. Price varies by position.
Série Ouro grandstands

R$22.50 / R$27.50 / R$32.50 half
One Série Ouro competition night. Prices correspond to different announced sales lots.
Série Ouro numbered chairs
Sector 12
R$55 full
R$27.50 half
One Série Ouro competition night with numbered-chair admission.
Camarotes
Hospitality areas
Operator-dependent The particular hospitality experience, viewing arrangement and services described by the selected operator.
Price distinction: R$250 is the announced standard 2027 Special Group admission price for selected grandstand and chair categories, not the price of every Sambadrome ticket. Série Ouro has separate pricing, frisas are priced as six-person boxes, and camarotes have individual commercial arrangements. The prices shown are published sales prices, not confirmation of current stock.

Is There an Online Ticketing Fee?

The 2027 Ticketmaster event information specifies no online service fee for the listed Carnival admissions. This does not mean every payment arrangement produces the same final cost.

Credit-card installment plans may involve financing interest, depending on the number of installments and the applicable payment conditions. The total payable amount should be checked before confirming the transaction.

Choosing the correct admission

Which Rio Carnival Ticket Should You Buy?

The admission category is as important as the sector number. A general-admission grandstand ticket, a numbered chair, a front box and a hospitality package offer different arrangements.

01 · Arquibancada Especial

Special Grandstands

The elevated grandstands are the principal spectator category for visitors wanting a clear, wide view of the samba-school parade formations.

The 2027 Special Group general-sale allocation covered Sectors 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11. Sector 9 was excluded from that particular sale.

Do not interpret a sector number as an assigned seat. The seating arrangement depends on the precise ticket category.

02 · Cadeira Individual

Numbered Chairs

Cadeiras individuais provide an individually allocated seating position. The announced 2027 Special Group chair offering was in Sector 12.

This category is useful for visitors who prefer a defined place rather than the open seating arrangements associated with some grandstands.

Sector 12 numbered chairs should not be confused with the popular grandstand category that also uses Sector 12.

03 · Frisa

Six-Person Front Box

A frisa is a grouped viewing enclosure close to the parade avenue. For the 2027 sale, the announced frisas accommodate six people.

The quoted price applies to the complete box for a particular night. The location and proximity to the parade affect the price.

Frisa admission also involves special identity registration, digital tickets and wristband collection procedures.

04 · Camarote

Hospitality Packages

Camarotes are hospitality spaces with their own admission conditions. They may offer food, drinks, performances, lounges, transfers or other amenities.

These inclusions vary by operator. A package marketed as a camarote does not automatically guarantee every amenity commonly associated with premium hospitality.

Compare the actual viewing position, access arrangements, mandatory clothing or accreditation rules and full price before making a purchase.

What About Popular Grandstands?

Arquibancadas populares are a distinct admission category associated with more affordable spectator areas. For 2027, LIESA identified the popular grandstands in Sectors 12 and 13 as a separate future sales stage in its September announcement.

Do not apply the R$250 numbered-chair price to popular grandstand admission. Nor should an unannounced popular-sector price be estimated from previous editions. The event-specific release and tariff must be confirmed separately.

Important: To understand which sections of the Sambadrome offer views near the beginning, middle or end of the parade, use the Sambadrome & Parades Guide. This ticket page concentrates on purchasing and admission conditions rather than repeating the venue guide.

Purchase process

How to Buy Official Rio Carnival Tickets

The 2027 Special Group sales have been conducted through Ticketmaster Brasil. The process is digital, identity-linked and subject to the conditions of the specific ticket release.

1

Choose the correct competition

First determine whether you want Special Group, Série Ouro or the Champions’ Parade. These are separate ticket products. Selecting the wrong event means buying admission for a different parade date or competition.

2

Use the official event listing

Locate Rio Carnaval’s relevant Ticketmaster Brasil event listing. Verify the organizer, event year, category and actual website domain before entering payment information.

Avoid payment requests delivered through unsolicited social-media accounts, private messages or supposed individual resellers.

3

Register with accurate information

Use your correct personal details, email address and supported identification information. Tickets can be nominal and linked to the designated holder.

For an international purchase, pay particular attention to the registration country and payment-card origin.

4

Select the date, sector and category

Confirm all three elements before entering the checkout. A ticket for Sector 12 chairs is not interchangeable with a ticket for Sector 12 popular grandstands.

The purchase description should specify the correct date and admission category.

5

Choose the correct full or half price

Select meia-entrada only when the named ticket holder meets the eligibility requirements. Discounted admission is not a general tourist promotion.

6

Complete payment within the deadline

Checkout is subject to the platform’s payment verification. For PIX transactions, the payment must be completed within the displayed reservation window. A pending order is not a completed ticket purchase.

7

Confirm the successful order

Retain the official order confirmation and check the purchaser and ticket-holder details. If a payment fails, do not assume that a previously displayed seat or allocation remains reserved.

8

Prepare for digital admission

Follow the instructions delivered through the ticketing platform when digital tickets are released. The 2027 event uses electronic admission arrangements. Do not assume a printed confirmation or screenshot replaces the required digital ticket.

2027 release history

When Did Rio Carnival 2027 Tickets Go on Sale?

The 2027 tickets were released in stages rather than through one universal sale. Some products were offered months before the individual parade order was finalized.

Release date Ticket release Booking arrangement
9 March 2026 Passaporte Rio Carnaval A limited R$499 package covering the three Special Group competition nights.
6 April 2026 Ingresso Sambista Promotional one-night admission, with the selected date determined later under the product’s rules.
20 May 2026 Sambista date selection Buyers of that early product began choosing their desired parade dates, subject to remaining allocations.
7–9 August 2026 Mercado Pago presale Presale for eligible Mercado Pago credit-card customers.
10 August 2026 General admission release Selected grandstand and numbered-chair tickets for individual parade dates, including the Champions’ Parade.
10 September 2026 Additional ticket release Grandstand allocations returning after cancellations and verification, together with a frisa release.

Why Can Tickets Return After a Sold-Out Sale?

An online release may sell out quickly, but that does not mean every attempted purchase becomes a completed transaction.

Tickets can return to the system following cancelled orders, failed payments or antifraud checks. LIESA identified these processes as contributing to the additional September 2026 sale.

Such releases are not guaranteed. Visitors should distinguish a confirmed new sales announcement from speculation that more tickets might appear.

Virtual queue: For the September release, the ticketing platform opened a waiting room before sales began and then allocated queue positions randomly at the official start. Entering the waiting room first did not guarantee first position in the purchase queue or guarantee admission.

Meia-entrada

Who Qualifies for Half-Price Rio Carnival Tickets?

Meia-entrada is a legally regulated discounted admission category. Eligibility depends on the relevant Brazilian rules and the documentation required for the individual beneficiary.

The announced 2027 Special Group half-price categories include students, people with disabilities, people aged 60 or older and qualifying low-income young people.

The ticket must be registered to the person entitled to the concession. The 2027 sales restrictions also limit the number of discounted tickets per buyer or CPF, depending on the release conditions.

Foreign visitors should not assume that an overseas student card or a document issued abroad will automatically satisfy the Brazilian eligibility rules. Confirm the required proof before choosing the reduced rate.

Students

Student Entitlement

The applicable student documentation must meet the ticketing and legal requirements for meia-entrada. Ordinary proof of enrollment may not always be sufficient.

Older visitors

Age 60 and Above

Visitors within the recognized age category must use the appropriate personal identification when claiming discounted admission.

Other qualifying groups

Disability and Low Income

Disability-related and low-income youth entitlements follow specific legal criteria. The relevant benefit and supporting documents must be confirmed before purchasing.

Never purchase discounted admission based solely on the cheaper price. If the holder cannot demonstrate the entitlement required at the event, admission problems may result.

International visitor purchases

Can Foreign Tourists Buy Rio Carnival Tickets?

Yes. The 2027 ticketing information provides for purchases using foreign-issued credit cards, subject to the platform’s registration, payment and verification rules.

The ticketing platform specifies that customers using a credit card issued outside Brazil should make their purchase through a registration associated with the country that issued the card.

Foreign-issued credit cards do not receive the Brazilian installment facility described for eligible domestic cards. Payment authorization also depends on the card issuer and the checkout system.

If the site requests identification details that do not match the documents available to an international visitor, use the ticketing platform’s supported registration process. Do not enter invented Brazilian CPF information.

Before checkout

Check Card Compatibility

Ensure the credit card is enabled for online international purchases and has sufficient available funds. Use accurate billing information corresponding to the card issuer.

Before arrival

Check Identity and Ticket Access

Confirm the name and identity recorded for the ticket holder. Retain the booking confirmation, monitor ticket-delivery notifications and prepare the accepted identification for the event.

What If a Foreign Payment Is Rejected?

A rejected payment does not necessarily mean that the event prohibits international buyers. The issue may involve card authorization, mismatched registration details, unsupported payment arrangements or routine antifraud screening.

Check the error message before trying again. If a transaction remains unsuccessful, contact the card issuer or the ticketing provider rather than attempting to bypass registration controls.

Identification and entry

How Do Rio Carnival Digital Tickets Work?

The 2027 ticketing arrangement is digital. A successful purchase confirmation and the final admission credential are not necessarily delivered at the same moment.

Ordinary digital admission

Access Through the Required Ticket System

The event information states that digital tickets will be made available closer to the event, with instructions sent using the registered email address.

Ticketmaster identifies Quentro as part of the digital-ticket process. Follow the exact delivery and activation instructions provided for the purchased ticket.

Do not assume that an email receipt or screenshot of an order number is a valid substitute for the actual event admission credential.

Frisa admission

Digital Ticket, Biometrics and Wristband

For 2027 frisas, the published entry procedure is more specific. It combines a Quentro digital ticket, facial biometric registration and an access wristband.

The people linked to the frisa booking must attend the designated wristband collection process together. Partial collection and collection by an unrelated third party are not permitted under the announced rules.

Once the wristbands have been collected, the registered biometric details cannot be changed under those conditions.

Important for groups: Do not assume that buying a six-person frisa allows you to distribute six anonymous tickets later. The identity, biometric and wristband procedures require advance coordination among the participants.

Are Rio Carnival Tickets Transferable?

The 2027 Special Group tickets covered by the announced sales are nominal and non-transferable. The Passaporte and Ingresso Sambista are also subject to personal ticket-holder conditions.

Do not buy a ticket in somebody else’s name on the assumption that it can be reassigned before Carnival.

This is particularly important for online resale advertisements offering screenshots, PDF copies or access through an account belonging to an unknown seller.

Admission requirements

Accessible Tickets, Children and Family Admission

Accessible seating

Book the Correct Adapted Area

The 2027 ticketing information identifies accessible areas in even-numbered Sectors 2, 4, 6 and 8 and a ground-level area in Sector 13.

People who need step-free routes, wheelchair positions or an accompanying seat should identify the appropriate allocation before completing payment.

Where an accompanying person is attending, the published guidance recommends purchasing their admission together in the same order.

Children and minors

Age-Related Entry Conditions

The 2027 event listings state that children aged five or older require a ticket to enter the Sambadrome.

Children below five who enter without their own ticket are not entitled to a separate seat and must remain on the responsible adult’s lap.

Visitors under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Event admission rules remain subject to any applicable judicial changes.

Accessibility warning: Availability of discounted admission does not automatically establish availability of wheelchair-accessible seating. The relevant concession, adapted space and companion arrangement must be checked as distinct requirements.

Practical ticket decisions

Which Ticket Type Makes the Most Sense?

Budget-conscious visitors

Série Ouro Grandstands

The announced 2027 Série Ouro grandstand lots are substantially less expensive than standard Special Group admission. They provide entry to a genuine samba-school competition, but not the Special Group event.

Single-night visitors

Individual Grandstand Ticket

An ordinary one-night ticket avoids paying for additional competition dates you cannot attend. Confirm the exact parade date before buying, especially when flights or hotel stays are fixed.

Three-night visitors

Passaporte

The limited 2027 Passaporte was designed for admission across all three Special Group competition nights. It is not equivalent to three independently transferable tickets.

Visitors wanting an assigned place

Numbered Chairs

A numbered chair offers a known seat allocation. It is worth comparing this arrangement with the open seating and different viewing positions available elsewhere.

Established groups of six

Frisa

A frisa can accommodate six people together, but it requires collective planning and compliance with identity and wristband procedures. It is not a flexible resale product.

Hospitality-focused visitors

Camarote

A camarote may suit visitors seeking amenities in addition to the parade. Compare the operator’s actual inclusions, viewing access, accreditation and transfer arrangements rather than relying solely on promotional descriptions.

Avoid booking problems

Seven Ticket Mistakes to Avoid

1. Confusing Série Ouro and Special Group

Both use the Sambadrome, but they are different competitions with separate dates and prices. A Série Ouro ticket does not automatically admit the holder to a Special Group night.

2. Assuming the sector number guarantees a seat

General grandstand admission and individually numbered chairs are different products. Read the admission category, not just the sector number.

3. Buying from unofficial resellers

Nominal, non-transferable electronic tickets create substantial risk when purchased from third parties. A screenshot is not proof that a valid ticket can be used by you.

4. Treating a ticket in the cart as purchased

High-demand ticket releases can show allocations to multiple customers before final checkout. Only a completed, confirmed order establishes a successful purchase.

5. Selecting a discount without entitlement

Meia-entrada requires a qualifying beneficiary and the proper documentation. The lower price alone does not make a visitor eligible.

6. Ignoring the frisa collection procedure

A group cannot assume that one organizer can collect every participant’s wristband alone. The announced 2027 frisa procedure requires coordinated collection with the registered attendees.

7. Waiting until arrival to prepare digital entry

Digital-ticket activation, identity registration and the correct application should be arranged according to the event instructions before reaching the entrance. A purchase confirmation should not be treated as the entry credential itself.

Ticket questions answered

Rio Carnival Tickets — Frequently Asked Questions

How much are Rio Carnival tickets for 2027?

The announced standard Special Group grandstand and numbered-chair price was R$250 for one night, with R$125 half-price admission for eligible buyers. Série Ouro grandstand tickets had separate lots at R$45, R$55 and R$65. Frisas and camarotes have different pricing arrangements. These amounts are announced prices, not live availability.

Where can I buy official Rio Carnival tickets?

Official 2027 Special Group sales were conducted through Ticketmaster Brasil. Select the appropriate Rio Carnaval event listing and verify the organizer, competition, admission category and date before purchasing. Do not rely on private messages from supposed ticket sellers.

Are Rio Carnival 2027 tickets sold out?

At the editorial review on 13 October 2026, the principal Special Group grandstand, chair, frisa and early-package listings were marked sold out on the event ticketing hub. Availability can change following new releases or other updates. Série Ouro and hospitality inventory is separate.

Can I buy one ticket for all three parade nights?

The 2027 Passaporte Rio Carnaval was a special R$499 admission product covering all three Special Group competition nights. It was limited, personal and non-transferable. A standard one-night grandstand ticket does not provide the same three-night admission.

What is the Ingresso Sambista?

The 2027 Ingresso Sambista was a limited early-sale product allowing the buyer to select a Special Group parade date after the school running order was determined. Its announced price was R$230 full or R$115 half. Date selection was subject to the product’s availability and confirmation rules.

Can tourists buy Rio Carnival tickets from abroad?

The 2027 ticketing arrangements support foreign-issued credit cards, subject to registration and payment verification. Customers using foreign-issued cards must use account details associated with the card’s issuing country. Foreign-issued cards do not qualify for the domestic installment facility.

Can I transfer my ticket to another person?

The announced 2027 Special Group ticket categories are nominal and non-transferable. Buyers should not assume that tickets can be reassigned or legitimately resold to another person.

Are tickets delivered by email?

Purchase communications are sent through the ticketing system, but the final digital ticket may be made available closer to the event. Buyers must follow the digital-admission instructions, including the required ticket application. An order confirmation alone is not necessarily a usable ticket.

What is the difference between a frisa and a camarote?

A frisa is a grouped spectator box close to the parade avenue. The announced 2027 frisas accommodate six people. A camarote is a hospitality arrangement whose seating, facilities and inclusions depend on its operator.

Do children need Sambadrome tickets?

The 2027 event listings state that children aged five or older must have admission tickets. Those below five who enter without a ticket have no separate seat entitlement and must remain on an adult’s lap. Visitors under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, subject to any judicial changes.

Is there a service fee on 2027 tickets?

The published 2027 Ticketmaster information specifies no online service fee for the event. Interest may still apply when a buyer chooses certain credit-card installment plans. The final payment summary should be reviewed before purchase.

Does a Sambadrome ticket include street Carnival?

No. Sambadrome admission relates to a specific event inside the parade venue. Rio’s public street blocos are separate celebrations. Ordinary public blocos do not require a Sambadrome ticket.
